Single storey Cockerel Cottage is the middle cottage in the clocktower building. It consists of an open plan kitchen and sitting room, a double bedroom and an ensuite wet room. The floors are all light oak, except in the wet room which benefits from non-slip Altro flooring. All windows and external doors are double-glazed. Internal doors are waxed light oak. There is central heating and fibre optic Wi-Fi throughout.
External access is through a wide stable door. The fitted kitchen has built-in under counter oven, fridge, separate freezer, dishwasher, washer/dryer and storage cupboards. At counter level is a butler’s sink with easy turn lever mixer tap, glass induction hob, microwave, toaster, coffee grinder and kettle.
A full range of pots, pans and crockery is provided.
In the sitting area there is a dining table with 2 dining chairs, a two-seater leather sofa, and a super comfy leather riser/recliner. Also provided are an adjustable wall-mounted 42” flat screen Freeview TV & DVD player, and a remote-controlled flame-effect electric fire, which can be run (with or without heat) throughout the year for cosy nights in.
The front patio, outside the kitchen/sitting room, is ideal for a quiet drink at the end of a hard afternoon sightseeing. It overlooks the croquet lawn. Beyond this are five acres of enclosed parkland, often home to a visiting flock of Poll Dorset sheep or herd of dairy cattle.
The bedroom contains a built-in wardrobe with Yale laptop safe, and also contains a hair dryer. The light oak double bed has a firm ortho mattress, comfy mattress topper and duvet cover. Bed linen is high thread count Egyptian cotton. Pillows are available in natural down or fibre fill. There are two light oak bedside cabinets, and a wall mounted 32-inch flat screen TV with Freeview.
The bedroom features large double glazed French doors which open onto the sandstone back patio equipped with bistro table and chairs. This leads onto a small private garden which overlooks the hens’ apple orchard. It provides an ideal spot for a secluded early morning coffee and croissant, and in summer is great for sitting out in the afternoon sun.
The ensuite wet room benefits from state-of-the-art Altro non-slip flooring. It contains a high-grade Vado thermostatic shower with fixed overhead unit, five function hand unit and grab rails. In addition, there is a free-standing shower chair with back and arms.
